Cristina Frosini

Cristina Frosini, a distinguished Italian pianist and educator, currently serves as a piano professor at the Conservatorio statale di musica di Milano "Giuseppe Verdi". She previously held piano professorships at the Conservatorio statale di musica di Alessandria "Antonio Vivaldi", the Conservatorio statale di musica di Como "Giuseppe Verdi", the Conservatorio statale di musica di Brescia "Luca Marenzio", and the Conservatorio statale di musica di Piacenza "Giuseppe Nicolini", and also served as the Director of the Milan Conservatory.

In 1981, she graduated with top honors in piano from the Milan Conservatory, having studied under Antonio Ballista and Sergio Fiorentino.

She began her performance career in 1975 and has since given hundreds of concerts, both as a soloist and with orchestras, and has recorded dozens of albums for renowned record labels, radio, and television. Between 2001 and 2005, she performed the complete Schubert four-hand piano works for the chamber concert series of the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano in Italy.

She has won numerous international competition awards, including the Viotti di Vercelliand the Lorenzi di Trieste, and has performed for major Italian concert institutions such as the Società dei Concerti dell'Università di Roma, the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, the Società dei Concerti e Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano, the Politeama Genovese, the Unione Musicale di Torino, the Amici della Musica di Palermo, the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, and the Stresa Festival.

Since 1981, she has taught piano at the Milan Conservatory, the Alessandria Conservatory, the Como Conservatory, the Brescia Conservatory, and the Piacenza Conservatory. Her students have won awards at international competitions such as the Busoni Competition. In November 2016, she was elected Director of the Milan Conservatory, serving until October 2022. In May 2023, she was appointed an Officer of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic and was awarded the "Rosa Camuna" honor by the Lombardy Region.
